That sounds like a 2 1/2 Peso coin, so about $70. See here: http://lynncoins. com/MEXICO_Gold. htm

If the coin doesn’t have a monetary face value, the price depends both on the real gold value, which is no doubt much less than the total weight, and its condition. If it is not in superb, mint condition, it wouldn’t be worth much.

The coin in this link is considerably heavier than the one you describe (almost 1. 5 troy ounces), but it fits your description otherwise. I would take the item to a local coin expert or two for an evaluation. I hope that helps.

100 % = 1000 fine = 24 karat
91. 7 % = 917 fine = 22 karat
75. 0 % = 750 fine = 18 karat
58. 5 % = 585 fine = 14 karat
41. 6 % = 416 fine = 10 karat
With gold at nearly $975 an ounce you clearly have a coin worth close to $1,500 dollars!

Do not take it to a coin dealer they will rip you off for sure.
Sell it to a gold dealer and know what gold is selling for at the time.

I have one and it weighs alot more than .09 ozs. I have about 10 others similiar with other names. I sold one on ebay last week For $1700.00. I would like to know more about the coin but don’t know where to go. I found that Mexico City Mint has made alot of the gold medals. Would like to know more about its worth. I sell sometimes to dealers that give me bulk gold price but by the time I pay ebay and paypal it just about breaks even. If I were guessing I would say the coin exceeds 1.2 ozs.
